The first part to any successful endeavor is to have a plan.
For some people planning comes naturally.
For others it’s the ultimate challenge.
The inability to plan seems to stem from the lack process and creativity.
We’ve all worked with that guy..
You know the one.
The one that pretty much just goes for it.
Ask him to do something and he just wings it.
Assign him to do a task and he’ll just start working on it.
With no forethought or plan.
It’s a take no prisoners / ask no questions approach.
Some will argue that this no holds bar approach is more successful.
And dependent on the task it may be.
But I beg to differ.
And that’s because…
Behind every great man or great woman is a plan.
Just because a plan isn’t always visible does not mean that one does not exist.
Stop for a minute.
Let’s take one step back and consider the following...
—If you don’t have a vision you won’t have a goal.
—If you don’t have a goal you won’t have a plan.
—And if you don’t have success it’s because you lack vision, goals and most of all planning.
Learn to make plans.
Learning to make and follow a plan will benefit you in so many ways.
It will teach you the value of process.
It will make you more creative as you begin to understand the intricacies of your vision.
And adding structure to your dreams will help them to become a reality.
