Sometimes you don’t really know until you get there.
For me, onboarding a new client is usually my first exposure to a clients culture.
It the time when we get to meet the employees and management.
Those first few days can be very telling.
Some companies have a positive culture.
They are friendly and outgoing.
They want to succeed and appreciate our help.
But that’s not always the case.
Sometimes you’ll meet a CEO that’s well-intentioned.
He or she wants to get the tech right in their business.
But unfortunately everyone else is not on board.
There are challenges with people and with culture.
In those cases - implementing change is difficult.
As a matter of fact.
It’s downright tough.
When you land a client with an unhealthy culture it’s a challenge.
It’s time cycles not worth spending.
And sometimes that means bowing out gracefully.
