Experience, Availability and Product

There are three key elements to any successful service business:

Experience, Availability and Product.

Experience is the first element.

How your customers interact with you and how you interact with them is paramount to running a successful and growing business. The processes and tools that you use to deliver that Customer Experience should be simple and easy to use.

The second element is Availability.

This can manifest in a couple of ways.  

If you are providing an online service and your service needs to be always on 24x7x365 days a year then your service needs to be on. Downtime is not an option.

If you're providing services where your customers need to be able to get a hold of you. Then waiting is not an option.  Responsiveness is the deliverable.

And finally Product.

Your product or service that you sell has to be good. It has to be rock solid. It doesn't necessarily have to be the best product of all time. But it needs to be damn good. 

With these three elements and some good people any business can be successful. 

The idea is to build a finely tuned machine where you can bring customers in through the front door and know that they’ll stick.
