Driving up the road today to help a client with what appears to be a networking issue.
So I'm headed up the freeway to see what I can do.
Coming from California where the traffic is considered the ultimate in slowness South Florida pales in comparison. That's a good thing!
Still traffic in any form can be annoying.
This month has brought a small batch of slowness for a couple of my clients.
For one it is because it has they have outgrown their systems.
For the other it's just bad design by their former IT guy.
As I get introduced to new clients I find all sorts of mis-configurations.
Typically due to lack of experience in basic networking.
It's little deviations that cause huge discrepancies down the line. This leaves business networks congested and feeling a bit of sorts like a traffic jam.
Ask your IT guy to draw you a map of your network. If the picture makes sense you're likely in good shape.
The second thing I'd say is go take a look at your IT closet or space. If it looks like a bundle of spaghetti there's likely something wrong in there.
The thing I like about networking is that it’s just like rocket science.
If you follow the basic formulas your rocket will land on the moon.
As always, if you have any questions feel free to shoot me an email.
Make it a great day.
