Testing My Tech Recall @ 4:00 AM

Testing My Tech Recall @ 4:00 AM

RING RING. This morning I received an after hours tech support request. I don’t usually get after hours calls. But this morning I did. It’s the first one this year. So I guess that’s a good thing. A client, who happens to be in another country, had a server go down. It’s interesting how your memory works at 4AM. After years and years of being in the tech world my brain still goes right into troubleshooting mode when needed.

Other times it’s more sinister. It’s a power move. Verbal players as I like to call them are experts in the art of self protection. Are You Voice-Enabled?

Are You Voice-Enabled?

TALK TALK. A few years back I was visiting a new client who happened to be a lawyer. I was impressed by his firm's use of voice dictation. From emails, notes, to legal docs. These guys were voice-enabled. They used Dragon software for dictation. I also visited doctors and other professionals who had embraced a voice-enabled workflow. Around that same time, I began using voice in my workflow. First for texts. Then for writing.

HOW TO SUCK LESS. You’ve written a requirements document. You’ve done your due diligence. And now, you’ve selected a new app to run your business on. You can almost taste success. One reason is that many small businesses don’t have the time, personnel or skills to take on Cybersecurity.
